I was so ashamed of myself when during an argument,I failed to prove that women are not inferior to men, servants of men, below men (I don’t even know what that means, maybe it refers to rank) , and subjects only. I failed to biblically prove our standing even against the famous Genesis story.
But now that I look back, I don’t know why it mattered. If this is an equality game or war let’s take it to the Throne Room of Grace, before the Maker of all things and the Just Judge for Judgment.
š„ and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father āto him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. Revelation 1:5-6
š„ You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” Revelation 5:10
š„For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger of the LORD Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth. Malachi 2:7
I guess we women, who are also priests too according to Revelations right up there, sadly don’t preserve knowledge with our lips like Malachi says we ought to.
š„ Therefore, as Godās chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12
š„ For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body āwhether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free āand we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 1 Corinthians 12:13
š¹But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 1 Corinthians 11:3
So we are all baptized with one Spirit but then again women ought to remember that our head is man and not Christ, confusing.
š¹For man did not come from woman, but woman from man;
neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.1 Corinthians 11:8-9
š„Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.
For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God. 1 Corinthians 11: 11- 12
Now those two verses also puzzle me, I wanna see beyond and know there’s no contradiction but I don’t know how.
š„But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. St. Luke 12:48
š¹Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.
If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. 1 Corinthians 14: 34- 35
So wait, women must be silent in Church, Are we also forbidden from telling pagan Men about Christ and the good news because they are men too? And wait, I thought we were nolonger sticking to the entire Old Law Paul, should we now also stone our sons to death after they disobey us because this is the old law, or isn’t it? So bad Paul ain’t here anymore, he left earth.
š„I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. But women will be saved through childbearing āif they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.1 Timothy 2: 9 – 15
From a letter from Paul to Timothy which some of certainly do wish was never opened and read by us, being a private letter and not a letter to the Church šš,but honestly, how much was said that we wouldn’t want people calling truth, ofcourse I don’t want to call a wise man like Paul ignorant and foolish and neither do I want to say the Scripture wasn’t Spirit inspired and God breathed. But there must a good reason why Scripture is not only Spirit breathed but also Spirit coded, only understood and learnt by the Spirit. Half of the Scripture above is so beautiful. But part of it complicated, the reasons given for why women ought to be silent are pathetic and when the man who said it’s better not to get married says women are saved through child bearing, he puzzles us. For me Christ definitely didn’t say we would be saved through child bearing, we are all saved through the Cross and all appointed disciples according to the Word, but then again I’m only a woman, one who hasn’t even made twenty yet.
š¹ The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18
š„ Why should our fatherās name disappear from his clan because he had no son? Give us property among our fatherās relatives.” So Moses brought their case before the LORD,
and the LORD said to him,
“What Zelophehadās daughters are saying is right. You must certainly give them property as an inheritance among their fatherās relatives and give their fatherās inheritance to them.
“Say to the Israelites, āIf a man dies and leaves no son, give his inheritance to his daughter.Numbers 27:4-8.
š„This is what the LORD commands for Zelophehadās daughters: They may marry anyone they please as long as they marry within their fatherās tribal clan.
No inheritance in Israel is to pass from one tribe to another, for every Israelite shall keep the tribal inheritance of their ancestors.Every daughter who inherits land in any Israelite tribe must marry someone in her fatherās tribal clan, so that every Israelite will possess the inheritance of their ancestors.
No inheritance may pass from one tribe to another, for each Israelite tribe is to keep the land it inherits.” Numbers 36:6-9
Let us also give credit to the only noble female leaders in the history of Israel. A little math first, the ratio of female leaders to the males is one to a hundred.
Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time.
She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided. Judges 4:4-5
That lady up there may not have been a warrior, but she was a judge and yes, she led men into war.
š„Then Miriam the prophet, Aaronās sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing.
Miriam sang to them: “Sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.”Exodus 15:20-21
Miriam led women in song and praise, I think men and some women would gladly use this verse when advising women to only teach other women but they don’t.
Numbers 12:1 Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite.
Numbers 12:2 “Has the LORD spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasnāt he also spoken through us?” And the LORD heard this.
Numbers 12:4 At once the LORD said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, “Come out to the tent of meeting, all three of you.” So the three of them went out.
Numbers 12:10 When the cloud lifted from above the tent, Miriamās skin was leprous āit became as white as snow. Aaron turned toward her and saw that she had a defiling skin disease,
Numbers 12:15 So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on till she was brought back.
š„ I brought you up out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. I sent Moses to lead you, also Aaron and Miriam. Micah 6:4
But yes, she got her honour as a leader too, even after the shaming punishment from her Heavenly Father.
That’s pretty much the only ladies I could think of.
I’m not trying to imply anything by all this blubbering actually, maybe the real folly of mine is me trying to claim that people should decide for themselves whether women should be silent or not. But again,I’m just a woman.
“Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?”
They came out of the town and made their way toward him. St. John 4:29 – 30.
I guess that woman should never have preached to men or is what happened looked at differently.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3;16
I’m not exactly the woman who wants to be silent in Church. I want to be a teacher and yes, I hope to one time stand in Church and preach. But then again I don’t want to be a preacher probably because it feels like too much work and I’m not a leadership person. I like to think women shouldn’t be Church heads only because I don’t want to be One which is pretty much me following my feelings. But my feelings do tell me it’s okay to stand and preach in Church so if anyone thinks this is a demonic Passion and Desire and it’s just me being disobedient and Rebellious, I’m welcome to suggestions. But at the end of it all ,I will do what God wants me to do, not men, that’s the truth.
I’m ready to learn in silence because for me my greatest honor will always be being an elect and Chosen one of God. Being a daughter of the most High God. I ask to be certain because I want to know, where does the Voice of men end and the voice of God begin? What’s my place and role in the Church, the Bride of Christ of which I’m a part?
If anyone has answers to all these questions, you can help me out or share a link. I want to know what you think too or atleast whether I’m misinterpreting Scripture!
